V18.17 2 February 2016

File Names for Contest Logs:
File names may now have up to 24 alphanumeric
characters, including internal spaces - all upper
case only. Other characters are ignored. Thanks
     G3WYW.

When naming new logs, it helps to start the name
of test logs with TEST, and to include the year
or date in the names of all logs.

The opening screens of SD and SDCHECK have been
reformatted to display the options for listing
and loading any log in the SD folder. For SD,
this directory listing includes an option to
delete any selected .ALL file, and corresponding
files with .LOG, .AUD and other extensions. It's
a good way to remove files used for testing and no
     longer needed.

This last feature has been in SD since V14.00 in
March 2008 but has remained largely invisible
until now. Note that SD V18 does not load logs
     created with V17 and earlier.

SDCHECK:
Fixed the option to create dupe sheets by band.
     Thanks G4AFJ.

Let me know if you need support for other contests.

When you install a new version of SD, or when you
change to Windows 10, you may have to adjust the
size of the default window to fill your screen.
If necessary, do this for both SD and SDCHECK.

Click on the SD icon, at the top LHS of SD's window
and select Properties, then Font. If you have use
a widescreen (16:9) monitor, select the Lucida Console
font. For a 4:3 monitor, select the Consolas font
(not available on XP). Then choose whatever size of
font you prefer. SD's window expands or contracts in
direct proportion to the chosen font size.

If the display gets corrupted (this often happens
in Windows 10 when you move or maximise the window),
use the CLEAR command on SD's logging line.

If you find bugs in V18.17, send the details to
sduser at contesting.com. Older versions are not
supported, so please confirm that the problem
exists in V18.18. Older versions, from V18.00,
are available from www.ei5di.com/sd/vaults
