That is confirmation only when, in the View tab in File Explorer, "File 
Name Extensions" is checked/ticked.

You may then find that the file is named cty.dat.txt.  If so, it should 
be changed to cty.dat.

In any case, there is no need to worry. For IOTA, scoring depends almost 
exclusively on IOTA References in the exchange.
