Gordon - I went the same route as Bill, no more than 400 cycles (INRAD) in the 
main RX and move the Collins 500 cycle to the Second RX. Let yours ears and 
brain do the rest. The 70 mhz. mod from INRAD did marginally improve 
performance.  I have yet to add the mod. to prevent front end overload but 
after the 160 meter and 10 meter ARRL tests I'm convinced I really need it.
