Manual switching for A / B / Split is quite easy with a two-pole, =
three-position switch.
I can make a sketch and scan it if you want.
Another option is to use a small audio mixer with each radio going into =
a channel. You can
adjust the amount of audio in each ear for each radio with the faders. =
I know several guys
who do SO2R like this.
If you want some kind of automatic switching, that's another matter. =
Some guys like
to put one radio in both ears while the other is transmitting. Relay =
switching is the easiest
way to do this for most hams.
I prefer a part way solution: while one radio is transmitting, I still =
hear the sidetone, but add=20
some of the 2nd radio audio into that ear -- kinda like moving the 2nd =
radio's audio image from=20
LEFT to LEFT-CENTER. That requires more complicated switching and either =
a resistor=20
network (a kluge) or an audio amplifier (preferrred).
