It's only one week until the 2001 Georgia QSO Party, which will be held on
July 21st and 22nd. See the SECC webpage for rules, times, frequencies and
log information at http://secc.contesting.com. The GQP is sponsored jointly
by the Southeastern DX Club and the South East Contest Club.

If you don't want to wade through the current list of mobiles/rovers and
their projected plans (below), here's a brief summary of stations that have
spoken up so far:

1. KT4ZB - southeastern GA (mobile on Saturday only)
2. NY4N - NW and northcentral GA
3. WA4TII - eastcentral GA
4. KN4Y - southwestern and far south GA
5. W3DYA - southwestern and south GA - above KN4Y route
6. N4PK - central GA
7. NJ4U (K4TW & K4EA) - NE, central, & SE GA
8. K5OT - NE, far north, and NW counties.

There are 159 counties in Georgia, and so far, all but maybe 10 or 15
counties will have at least one mobile station passing through it during the
weekend. The coverage looks excellent, and hopefully a few more mobiles
will get out and make some contacts in their home area.

Here are a few counties that could use additional mobile activity:

* West central GA on the Alabama border: Heard & Troup
* Central GA: Jones and Baldwin
* Far eastern counties near Augusta and the SC border:
Wilkes, Lincoln, Columbia, Richmond, Burke, Jenkins, and Screven
* Southeastern GA: Montgomery and Evans

Of course, I've not mentioned that there are many home stations throughout
the state that will be very active during the weekend!

Hope to hear you this weekend from wherever you are.

73,
Larry K5OT
