Hello all,
What else is there to say? I believe everyone had a great weekend mobiling
around the state, cramming as many counties as possible on the air for all
to work. I was accompanied by WB5RYB on both days, and had WA2MBP with us
on Saturday. Having the second CW op was great, as my CW skills are poor at
best. Also, we did it all on paper. WB5RYB is currently transcribing the
log into a Excel spreadsheet as I write this. I was the dedicated SSB
operator. I did manage a 4 or 5 phone contacts on Saturday, and I may have
doubled that on Sunday. As I was the driver, it did allow me to keep us
from getting lost. Besides, our rates were just to good on CW to waste the
energy on SSB.

Running a Icom 706 thru a High Sierra mounted on the rear of a full size
Chevy van, we made 650 contacts in 35 counties in Central GA. Most contacts
were on 40M, as I have many friends in VA from my old club following us
around. 20M was fantastic at sundown Sat, as the noise subsided, and the DX
stations were easy to copy. Hope to have the our official results soon.

Great job done buy all. Thanks to K5OT for coordinating the rovers. I
changed out route twice to be sure we covered as many counties as possible.
I believe this may be the first year that nearly all the counties were
activated at one time or another. It will be fascinating to see the
results, and see just how many counties were on the air this past weekend.
