Born in 1982, first licensed in 1993. Upgraded to extra in 1997 at age =
14.=20
I probably haven't had as much exposure as most contesters because I =
haven't been around as long. I have mostly operated at the KL7Y =
multi-ops. My first contest was SS CW in 1996. My first major contest =
was from KL7Y in the 1997 CQWW CW. I have done almost every CQWW, WPX, =
and ARRL from KL7Y's place either M/M, M/2, or M/S. For the other =
contests I usually just did them at home with a tribander and wires.=20
I am always trying to improve my scores and operating ability, and try =
to learn from the 'masters.' Recently I have been recording all of my =
contests, and analyzing my operating. (After I submit the log of =
course.) My UBN's are always excellent on either mode. I prefer CW, and =
if picked, would choose a mostly SSB operator as a partner. I am a =
freshman at the University of Idaho, majoring in Electrical Engineering. =
I now operate at the club station, W7UQ. We have a TH7 at 100 feet and a =
random wire for the low bands. This fall I plan on putting up new 40/80m =
antennas so I can put out a real signal on those bands. The goal is to =
be in top 10 in NAQP/Sprint (LP). I have never done SO2R, but would love =
to try it. I built a SO2R audio switching box, but have never had the =
chance to use it. I hold most KL7 records in the smaller contests, =
including NAQP and the Sprints. My best CW rate was during ARRL DX CW =
from KL7Y, with 3 consecutive hours over 199, the highest being 215. All =
qso's were good after the UBN came out. I am always pushing myself and =
trying to figure out what I can do better for next time. My strength is =
definitely CW. My goals for the coming contest season is to get:=20

ARRL DX M/S - 1993 CW (NH6T) - Oceania record=20
K7SS and I nearly doubled the old record with 5000 QSOs, finishing a =
close second to P40V - 2000 miles closer to the US. The record still =
stands.=20
CQ WW SOLP (NH6T) - 1994 CW - 4th World - Oceania record. This record =
stood until H44MX (K1XM) broke it in 1999.=20
ARRL DX SOAB LP - 1995 CW (KH6RS) - Oceania record. This is also a =

In recent multi-ops, I have also contributed in a big way:=20

Robert E.(Bob) Naumann was first licensed in April 1973 as WN2OVE. In =
June of that year, he operated his first "contest": Field Day. After =
Field Day, he happened across the New England Slow Net on 80m, and that =
began a lengthy period of traffic handling, CD Parties, and contest =
operating where he met W2RQ, W2GD, et al.=20
In the early 1980's, after getting involved in serious contesting at =
K2GL's station in 1979 at the invitation of long-time friend WB2VYA (now =
KR2Q), he also upgraded to Extra and received callsign KR2J.=20
Bob was part of numerous record setting multi-multi operations as part =
of the N2AA/K2GL team beginning in 1979. He also operated from W2PV in =
1981 which was an ARRL DX SSB winning effort.=20
Bob also operated several other multi-ops from W2YV, K2OY, K5NA, W2RQ et =
al and for several years was a regular at the N2RM multi-multi =
opperation. He still drops in at N2RM occasionally as travel and work =
plans allow from Texas; most recently in the 2000 CQWW CW Contest.=20
After relocating to the Dallas area with a former employer in 1996, Bob =
requested and received the callsign N5NJ under the vanity program.=20
Bob is interested in contesting, DXing, and VHF operating. He has earned =
DXCC, WAZ, WAS, WAC and is currently working on VUCC with nearly 200 =
grids worked on 6 meters.=20
Bob has participated seriously in VHF contests over the last few years =
as a single operator in the low power category.=20
He is an ARRL Life Member, and is also member of the Quarter Century =
Wireless Association, the North Texas Contest Club, the Lone Star DX =
Association, and the Frankford Radio club. He was formerly a member of =
the Radio Society of Great Britain.=20
While he lived in New Jersey, Bob was a member of the North Jersey DX =
Association and served on the W2 QSL Bureau. Bob participated in the =
relief effort for the Earthquake victims in El Salvador as a radio =
operator from 4U1UN in New York City along with the "Radio Readiness =
Group". For several years, Bob served as a net control for the New York =
City Marathon.=20
He has over 320 DXCC countries confirmed and has operated many contests =
from several notable stations. Some of them are: K2GL/N2AA, W2PV, N2RM, =
W2YV, W2RQ, NF2L, K2OY, K3UA, K5MR, WX0B, 4U1UN, V26B, AA5NT and NN3SI =
in the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C.=20
In 1996, KF3P(now K3MM) and Bob(then KR2J) placed 9th at the 1996 World =
Radiosporting Team Championship held in San Francisco in July.=20

Bob holds the callsign V26O in Antigua and operated the 1999 ARRL CW DX =

I am very interested in going to Finland for WRTC 2002. My previous =
calls were KC6CNV, KQ6SC and AD6DO. I have held this call since November =
1999. I am only 20 years old, but have lots of contest experience. I =
have been licensed since I was 8 years old, and have been contesting =
ever since. For the first few years of my ham career I focused on DXCC. =
I now have 328 countries worked, including P5. I started to contest =
seriously back in 1995, and my scores have gotten better every year. I =
even have a few wins under my belt. I have only done a few DX contests =
seriously because it is very difficult to find a big station to operate =
from in CA. I finally hooked up with W6KP who has a nice mountain top =
QTH back in '99. He was kind enough to let me use his station in a few =
contests. I got into the top 10 in all the DX contests that I tried, =
including ARRL CW. From what I understand there hasn't been a top 10 =
score from W6 in over 10 years in that contest. I have done the CQWW =
contests M/M every year since 1995 with the W6BA/N6AW/W6KP crew. I was =
invited to go to KC1XX for CQWW CW to do 40m in 2000. I operated all but =
30 minutes, and ended up having the highest 40m score out of all the =
east coast multi multi's.=20

Chuck started contesting while in high school with the Mount Diablo=20
Amateur Radio Club field day events. This soon lead to meeting Mori,=20
KN6M, who taught Chuck much of his contesting skills. As KB6YF, Chuck=20
helped assemble and operate Mori's multi-multi station to some note=20
worthy finishes. These included the KN6M contribution to the NCCC=20
club win in the 1981 CQWW contests. In 1984 Chuck took a leave from=20
contesting and general radio activity to attend the University of=20
Texas. In 1995 Chuck graduated with his PhD. in Astronomy and=20
Astrophysics and relocated to Tucson, AZ where he works at the=20
National Observatory as a staff scientist.=20
Upon moving to Tucson Chuck met Larry, N7DD who rekindled his interest=20
in the radio sport of contesting. While he rented various homes Chuck=20
operated Larry's station during CW contests. In 1998 Chuck bought=20
his first home and began assembling his own station. Chuck also=20
formed a small contesting club, the Rillito River Contest Club, based=20
from his home QTH using the call N7KU. Chuck's fledgling station has=20
produced several top 10 finishes recently. Chuck expects to continue=20
to develop his station as a consistent competitor contesting.=20
