Basically, I believe the center is established by the annual report to the 
ARRL, so it can't be changed contest by contest.  The Contest Advisory 
Committee is considering changes to this rule at this time.  One of the 
proposals, (which I favor and have voted for) would allow the use of a 
rectangle covering the same  square footage as a 175 mile circle.  I believe 
we could jigger that to include AA4S, W4OC, N4UK and the other SC guys, as 
well as K4WI and others at the other end.  It would depend on how the 
rectangle is determined.  At his point I don't know if this will pass the CAC 
at all, or how it will be defined, or if the Membership Services Committee 
and the Board would buy it even if we recommend it.  But at least there is 
hope :-).

I'll keep you guys posted as this develops.
