Bill mentioned the IARU (CW) as being one of the fun contests to
operate. Anyone who has not tried this contest (phone or CW) is really
missing out. Of course this year the WRTC competition will be held
concurrently with the IARU. You will hear the best contesters in the world
(including W4AN and K4BAI -- K4UEE is sitting out this year) doing their
thing. Look for the special OJ1-OJ8 prefixes (plus one letter) being used
by the competitors.

Exchange is RS(T) and ITU zone. It's fun -- and instructional -- to listen
to a WRTC team of world-class ops running stations whether they are on CW
or phone. Incidentally both modes are used in the contest. Make a note,
it's the second weekend of July: 1200 UTC Saturday, July 13 to 1200 UTC
Sunday, July 14.

Complete rules are
here: http://www.arrl.org/contests/rules/2002/rules-iaru.html

73,

Jay/K4OGG
