Jim,

I sold a TS570DG on ebay a couple months
ago.
The fellow, Tom, didn't have a license
yet.
Received an email from him a couple days
ago --
now that he's licensed he found the '570
would
transmit on SSB, but not on CW.  He
could operate
the tuner and all, but for some reason
his paddle
wouldn't activate the keyer.

Knowing some rigs route the transmitted
signal
through the IF filter(s), I suggested he
change
menu item 46 to "off" if he didn't have
a filter
installed (I'd sold them seperately and
didn't
remember changing the menu item after
pulling the
filter).  He replied this morning and
said the
rig is working like a champ.

You might check that before sending the
rig in
for repair.

By the way, Tom is now an Extra class
operator
after 2 months.
