*** California on 80cw QRP and "NVIS" wire antenna ***

Lowlight
--------

Was very disappointed (but not surprised based on user reports from
WA8REI) that the new SGC SG-211 Smartuner would lose lock during SSB
QSOs; it worked great on CW. Reverted back to the SG-237 Smartuner which
worked perfectly on CW and SSB.

The SG-211 also appeared to have greater losses than the SG-237 based
on receiving noise. (Note: No A/B tests or instrument measurements were
made between the two units.)

Yaesu FT-897 transceiver operated at 5 watts into an OCF 28-gauge
insulated wire stealth antenna up 40 feet in heavy foliage trees next to
I-75 in downtown Atlanta industrial area. SGC SG-237 and SG-211
Smartuners. MicroHAM USB rig interface. WriteLog 10.48f.
