Hello all: Another exhausting list of contests for this weekend. I
will list those that I think most of us could make some contacts in. If
anyone wants me to list 160 meters contests where W8JI and a few others
could make a few contacts, please let me know and I'll include things
like the RSGB 160 M contest this weekend and the VK/ZL 160 meter
contests, etc.

1. CQ WPX RTTY. 00Z Sat 24Z Sun. Very much like the CW and SSB WPX
Contests. Maximum of 30 hours for single ops. 1 hour minimum
off-periods. Exch: RST+Serial #. Extra points for QSOs on 40 and 80
M. http://www.cq-amateur-radio.com/121204RTTY%20WPX%20Rules%20205.pdf.

2. Asia - Pactific Sprint, CW. 11-13Z Sat. 40, 20 M CW. 7015-7040,
14030-14050. RTTY will probably block out everything from 7029 on up.
QSY rule. Called station QSYs at least 1 khz. after QSO. Work only A-P
area stations. http://jsfc.org/apsprint/aprule.txt.

3. Dutch PACC Contest. 12Z Sat to 12Z Sun. CW/SSB. 160-10M. RS(T) +
Dutch Prov or RS(T) + serial #. List of Dutch Provinces on website.
Work only Dutch (PA-PI) stations. Frequencies are limited on some
bands: CW: 1830-1850; 3500-60, 14000-060. SSB: No SSB permitted on
160. 3600-3650, 3700-3800, 14125-14300.

4. YL-OM SSB. 14Z Sat to 02Z Mon. QSO # + RS + ARRL Section,
Province, or Country. http://www.ylrl.org/ylcontests.html.

5. Louisiana QSO Party. 15Z Sat to 03Z Sun. 160-2M, CW/Ph. CW freq:
  up 40 khz, 50.095, 144050. PH: 1865, 3865, 7265, 14265, 21365,
28465, 50205, 144210. Exch: RS(T) + parish or SPC. Bonus points for
QSOs with W5YL. Mults (parishes) are per band and mode! The web page
gives you links to download a log sheet, a summary sheet, and a list of
parish abbreviations; however, I could not make any of these work. I
have e-mailed W5YL (a club) and asked for help and will supplement if
they send copies of these things that I can print out.

6. OMISS QSO Party. 15Z Sat to 1459Z Sun. SSB 80-10M. Exch: RS +
SPC + OMISS # (if any). http://www.omiss.net/PDF/2005_OMQP_RULES.pdf.

7. FISTS CW Club Winter Sprint. 17Z to 21Z Sat. 80-10 CW. Centered
around .058 khz up on each band. Exch: RST + SPC + Name + FISTS # or
power. Summary sheet should be downloaded from website.
http://www.fists.org/sprints.html.

8. BC QSO Challenge. 18Z Sat to 18Z Sun. CW/SSB/Digital. 160-6M. CW
up 25 khz + 50095. Suggested activity on hour and on half-hour. SSB:
1850, 3750, 7250, 14250, 21250, 28350, 50130. Bonus points for QSO with
VE7SUN. Exch: 4 character grid square + BC Regional District or SPC.
List of Regional Districts is on website.
http://www/deltaamateurradio.com/bcqsochallenge.html.

9. North American Sprint, CW. 00 to 04Z Sun. 80, 40, 20. Exch: both
calls, Serial #, Name, SPC. 7-day log deadline. Note new procedure
suggested for log submissions. http://www.ncjweb.com/sprintrules.php.

10. North American QRP Club 80 Meter Sprint. Various periods 0130 to
0530Z Wednesday (Tuesday evening local). Choose either 0130-0330,
0230-0430, 0330-0530. Unless you are on the west coast, best choice is
probably the middle time. If I weren't going to be out of town, I'd
probably operate the first two hours and go to bed on time. The middle
time wouldn't be bad, though. Hope some of you will operate since I
will not be able to do so this month. Freq suggested: 3555-65,
3705-3715, 3579. (Avoid FISTS on 3558.) Exch: RST + SPC + NAQCC
Member # or Power. Multiply score by 2 for using a stright key for the
whole period; by 1.5 for bug. http://www.arm-tek/~yoel/sprint_0205.html.

Hope everyone has a good time this weekend and a lot of QSOs.

73,

John, K4BAI.

Due to a trip out of town, the summary next week will be delayed until
Thursday. I will probably be checking e-mail each day though, so prompt
reporting of scores will still be appreciated.
