With trees of significant height, I have never had much luck with a
spinning rod. I have managed about a 90% rate of getting the bait in
the water when used conventionally. ):>

However, I have always used a bow and arrow. I take the largest
spinning reel I can find and mount it just a little off center from
the middle of the bow grip. I then use a small 1/4" long socket which
will just fit over the end of the arrow.

>From there, it's aa matter of tying on the line just ahead of the
feathers and then fire away. Then I go to the other side of the tree,
cut the line from the arrow, and tie it to a length of carpenters
line. Back to the box, and reel in the line. then tie that
3/16 dacron line to the carpenters line and pull it over.

Need to check out my coax also. Also have a M2 3 element 40 in the
garage, if I ever find the time to put it together.
