Hello all:

Hope you are having a good week. I got no scores for either of the QRP
contests last week. All scores found were for CQ WPX CW, which was an
excellent contest with above average conditions for the first half and
about average for the second.

This weekend will feature the IARU Region One Field Day and the RSGB
National Field Day. These are CW contests and run 15Z Sat to 15Z Sun.
If the bands are open for DX, you can have a lot of fun giving out RST +
serial numbers to the European FD stations. Also, there is the annual
QRP Telephone Area Code Sprint on Saturday, 18Z to 2359Z. You might
turn the rig down to 5 watts and play in this one after the Atlanta
Hamfest. RST + Name + State + Telephone Area Code. A sample logsheet
can be downloaded from the website. CW/SSB/PSK. Pa stations send "X"
after the TAC. Extra points for QSOs with N3EPA.

Hope everyone has a nice week and a lot of fun and on-the-air plus
eyeball QSOs this weekend.

You might be interested to know that Bill Fisher's original Extra Class
call, KM9P, has been obtained by a WPX club with K4JNY as the trustee.
Scott, W4PA, used KM9P in the WPX contest last weekend and sounded a lot
like Bill. Scott guest operated at Bill's station on a number of
occasions and he and Jeff (K4JNY) say that they obtained the call for
use in WPX contests as a tribute to Bill.

73,

John, K4BAI.
