Hello all: Here is a summary of this weekend's contests.

1. 10-10 International Mobile Contest. 0001Z to 2359Z Saturday. All
modes. 10 M only. Exchange: Name + SPC + 10-10 # (if any) + US/VE/G
county. Enter "0" if a non-member is worked. Fixed stations work only
mobiles (including MM and AM). County lines count for QSO points and
multipliers for each county.

2. BARTG HF RTTY Contest. 02Z Sat to 02Z Mon. 80-10 M RTTY. Single
ops limited to 30 hours. Exchange: RST + serial # + 4 digit time in UTC.

3. Russian DX Contest. 12Z Sat to 12Z Sun. 160-10 M, CW/SSB.
Exchange: RS(T) + serial # or 2 character oblast. List of oblasts may
be downloaded from the webpage under "tips and hints." No 10-minute
rule single ops. Club competition uses a 500 km. circle. I'd think
that would include almost everyone in SECC. So, be sure to put your
club affiliation ("South East Contest Club") in your log submission.
For users of CT, the sponsors recommend using the DXpedition mode in
version 9.5 or later (version 10 can be downloaded for free) and putting
the call area number ahead of the two letter oblast. For example, log a
station in St. Petersburg UA1, RA1, etc. as 599 1SP. You have to put
the numeral in to get the program to accept the letters that follow.
Apparently, their logchecking software will ignore the leading number,
so you won't have to edit the Cabrillo file after the contest.

4. CLARA and Family HF Contest. (CLARA is Canadian Ladies Amateur
Radio Association or something like that.) 17Z Sat to 17Z Sun. 80 - 10
M. CW/SSB.  Exchage:  Name + QTH + one of the following:  CLARA member;
family member; nonmember YL; nonmember OM.

5. Virginia QSO Party. 18Z Sat to 02 Z Mon. CW/Ph/Digital. All bands
except WARC. Exchange: QSO # + VA county or independent city or QSO #
+ SPC. Suggested frequencies: CW: 1805 and up 50 khz. SSB: 1845,
3860, 7260, 14270, 21370, 28370. VHF: 50.125, 144.200.

6. 9K 15 Meter Contest 12-16Z Sunday. 15 M CW and SSB. 21000-21110,
21150-21440. Exchange: RS(T) + Serial #. It seems that everyone can
work anyone in this contest. This is the third year for this contest,
and I haven't heard anyone working it yet. 9K, of course, means Kuwait.

Hope everyone finds one or more contest to have fun in this weekend.
Please let me have your results by early Wednesday.

John, K4BAI.
