Great job, Brian. Congratulations! I heard you only once. Late in the
contest on 40. Weak, but quite readable. Saying your call over and
over again. I couldnt' break in. Eventually you worked one or two
other guys, so I gave up and moved on down the band.

Problem with 20 for me was mainly that skip was often too long for many
areas of the country. It closed early, especially on Saturday night, as
it stayed open a bit later Sunday.

It probably is a good idea to find out the time or the QSO number that
the guy says he had already received from you. Most of the time, it
will turn out that you did work him, but you logged his call wrong. By
asking for that information, you can correct the call of the previous
QSO and avoid losing credit for that QSO.

I don't usually bother the do the "QSO before" route on CW or with a
real short exchange. But, on phone, with the long SS exchange, I do
think it is productive. I will say we have worked before and it was
your #__. Please look in your log and let me know if I am not there and
then we can do it again. I never had anyone say that I wasn't there,
but I did have a half dozen or so say that they had logged my call wrong
the first time.

73,

John, K4BAI.
