Affiliated Club Competition 

Long-term dominance really isn't the hallmark of the Medium and Local categories in the Affiliated Club Competition. Rather it seems many solid clubs stage a "battle royal" each year. The keys to beating the competition is, as it is in the Unlimited category, getting as many members of your club active for as long as they can, For 2005, Medium Club winner the South East Contest Club averaged 86K points for its 45 entries and held off the strong challenge from the Southern California Contest Club's 39 submissions averaging 80K each. Third place Mad River Radio Club's 41 entries averaged about 8K less than the 71K average of the fourth place Tennessee Contest Groups 34 entries -- showing the value generating as many entries as possible from your club members.
