[SECC] ARRL 160 stories

Hi gang,

I got a surprise last week -- an invitation to do the QST writeup for the 
ARRL 160M Contest. Ford, N0FP has been doing a fine job, but is ready to let 
someone else do it -- he is a CPA and the deadlines fall right in the middle 
of tax season!

Although "facts and figures" are the main part of the story, there is always 
a little room for notes of special interest -- so I have started to collect 
stories about hams who participated with makeshift antennas or under unusual 
circumstances, just so they could get on 160 and be part of this fun 
contest.

Are you one of those guys or gals? I know of a few from posts on the club 
reflectors and the 3830 soapbox comments, certainly there are more. Send me 
a short summary of your special effort to get on the air for this contest. 
I'll use as many stories as I can -- probably just room for a few good ones 
in QST, but will get more of them into the Web Report.

I'll post this to CQ-Contest after the first of the year. In the mean time, 
feel free to send it along to anyone you know.
