Here is a summary of rules for the semi-annual Bill Windle QSO Party
sponsored by the First Class CW Operators Club (FOC) and open to all CW
ops. You may enjoy this even for the full 24 hours UTC of this
Saturday, October 14. You can participate before going to the picnic at
NQ4I's if you are able to join us there. This is a good chance for CW
ops who might like to join FOC to meet FOC members and some will no
doubt get a nomination for membership later. 73, John, K4BAI.

P.S. If you hear "161" sent instead of "73," it just means 73 + 88 and
includes the spouse of both ops in the greetings.

Hi Everyone,

This is a reminder about the October 14 Bill Windle QSO Party. Hope you
all
are planning to be QRV at least some of the time. Great opportunity to
meet a
lot of the gang on the bands.

In case you need info on the rules, here goes:

Join us for 24 hours of CW fun, making QSOs with FOC members on all 6 HF
bands (WARC excluded) and VHF. This is an operating event (not a
contest) called
The Bill Windle QSO Party. The primary purpose is to encourage more CW
activity. Stations call CQ BW in any portion of the band from 015 to 040.
Non-members contact FOC members. Contact each station once per band.
Exchange RST and
name (FOC members will also send their membership number). Stations are
encouraged to also engage in mini-chats, if they so desire. The
activity event
will run from 0000Z to 2359Z on Saturday, October 14, 2006. No awards
and no
reporting required, but if you are so inclined, send in your QSO total
to be
listed. Non-members send total number of QSOs with FOC members (counted
once
per band). Members will report the number of total QSOs/and total FOC QSOs
(counted once per band). No logs required, we use the “honor” system.
Email
totals only to _KZ5D at aol.com_ (mailto:KZ5D at aol.com) by October 21,
2006. All
non-member stations reporting will receive a copy of the results via
email.. List
will be posted on the FOC website and on contesting.com
Please encourage non-members to get on and enjoy the fun!
See you Saturday.
161,
Art KZ5D
