[SECC] [SEDXC] Penninger Tipping Bases

JT, I did end up getting the Penniger base, four 7'
mast sections (custom size but he didn't charge for
cutting) and the mast clamps.  That gives me 30' as
the base gives you a couple of feet.  I believe the
final bill was around $500 give or take a $100.
I've set it up three times now and it has worked fine
each time.
The mast clamps are drilled on each corner (3 corners)
for attaching guys.  The only time I've actually guyed
it was for Field Day.  I don't see why you couldn't
guy it more permanently if you wanted to go higher.
I can walk the 30' sectioned mast up by myself, but it
only has pulleys, light rope and a 10' fiberglass mast
extension, when I do.  I use a 80-6 meter Off-Center
Fed Dipole that I pull up after the mast is up and
secured.
With a heavier antenna/rotor and more mast sections,
it is do-able but probably not a one-man job.  I'd
want some help walking it up as well as possibly
someone(or more) behind it with ropes, pulling.

Overall, I'm really pleased with the Penniger system
and will be using it for more Field Day and portable
operations in the future.
