OK. If I've just finished a CQ and someone sends "?" immediately
thereafter, usually if no one is calling, I'll call CQ again.
Sometimes I might send a "?" back just as a tweak to tell the guy
"hey, be patient, I'm CQing here, I'll dump in another CQ in a
second". Now, it's rare that I would do this, usually later in a
contest when I'm tired/bored/PO'd, but I've done it.

Like I say, I'll usually just CQ again because I'm afraid I'll be in a
frequency fight if I don't.

The reason I find this annoying is that often times the "?" covers up
someone who is calling me that I'm trying to copy. ARRGH!

IMO, sending the "?" does nothing positive. If the guy is CQing and
no one answers, he'll CQ again in another few seconds. If someone is
calling, you'll get your chance quicker if the caller isn't QRMed.

This is a bit different. As far as I'm concerned, if the other guy
isn't IDing after every call, he deserves this...or at least can't
complain.
