North American QSO Parties will be held in January. CW in January 10
and 11. Phone is January 17 and 18. Teams consist of at least two and
no more than five single op stations. Maximum power is 100 watts.
Single ops may work no more than 10 out of the 12 hours from 1800Z
Saturday to 0600Z Sunday. Exchange is Name and State, Province, North
American country, or "DX." Multipliers are US states, Canadian areas,
North American countries. Other DX stations count for QSOs, but not for
multipliers. Multipliers are counted per band, so there is a lot of
QSYing available. Bill Fisher, W4AN, used to say that NAQPs were his
favorite contests because he could average (with his contest station, of
course) over 100 QSOs per hour for the entire contest and he couldn't do
that in any other domestic contest.

Teams can be sponsored by clubs, but are not limited to club members and
there is no circle requirement. So, members and friends from outside
the circle are welcome on SECC teams.

I will register the teams before the contests start. Please send me an
e-mail and let me know if you will be on a SECC sponsored team for CW or
for SSB or for both and if you will be full time or part time and if you
will be low power or QRP power. I will let you know the make up of the
teams when they are registered. It is not required that you show the
teams in your Cabrillo file as the teams are determined from the
registration. I do need to know if you will be using a call other than
your own and what name you will be using during the contest as well as
your state if it is different than your usual state.

This is a way for South East Contest Club to achieve recognition in the
contest community. Getting a lot of teams together also increases the
activity/action in the contest and increases the fun for all.

So, let me know your plans for NAQPs in January. Feel free to invite
your friends to join in.

73,

John, K4BAI.
