I put a few hours in this one while working Texas QSo Party on CW...Condx. were pretty gud
?and was surprised to get the gud 15 meter opening. At the halfway point of the Texas QP,
I have 132 Q's and 77 counties. These numbers cud be better if condx. were not so lousy to
Texas, I heard many more counties from the mobiles that were just so weak or totally just
esp. Crazy thing happened yesterday, It was raining steadily outside the whole day and out of
blue, I had a big flash and crackle out of the back of the station..I though I lost my radio
to the lightning gods but after a few moments of prayer, I investigated and found everything
still working..Whew!! Lets see how things go today to Texas...73's John

Comments:

Condx seemed gud for this one but the dipole still weak on 20 meters. I actually
worked all of my 15 meter contacts with my 5 ele 10 meter yagi through a tuner,
it outplayed the dipole...After 20 meters faded, signals on 40 were puny, but
the low power and dipole got through to all the big guns I heard..thanks guys.
73's and cu all next year..( Nice to see some sunspots coming back..just need
more hardware in the air!! ).. John W4IX
