[SECC] Using a shorter name?

Got a general question for the group and want to see what everyone else
thinks on the subject, I was sitting here practicing my exchange for the
contest and was getting REALLY tired of sending my long name -- Jeremy and
was wondering if it is acceptable to go with a shorter name such as - Jay or
something similar?
