Hi John,

It really raises the Blood Pressure of some of locals to suggest that arrl 
should be a WW contest. I just think it would be much better participation world 
wide and in turn more USA would get on to work more dx all over the world

The sentiment that arrl dx contest is what it is and dont mess with it is pretty 
much the arguement of all the traditionalist here also. So be it. I dont like 
the contest and never will so I can get the weekend off from contesting.

  This distance based scoring crapola is going to give hope to the geographical 
'havenots' in the black hole and beyond.  But the reality will be the NE USA 
will still dominate in most years.
  
  People just don't understand the nature of the ARRL DX. It has always been 
USA/VE works the world.  It is NOT a true DX contest like CQWW, WPX, or IARU.  
So any comparisions are apples and FL oranges.  Are there ways to improve DX 
participation.....sure, let them work each other for less points, and make 
USA/VE contacts worth 3,4,5 or 6 times more.  

  
  I have a bad feeling about all of this.....the CAC is driving down the wrong

  Wow, John you are passionate about this one.

  I for one  dont operate the ARRL ?dx? contest for past 20 years (except to 
work p40w) because there is so much lack of participation by the rest of the 
world. It used to be that you could maybe squeeze out 100 countries on one of 
the low bands 160,80,40 but not anymore. 


  The rest of the native world except europe consider arrl dx contest a bad 
contest. That wont change much with any rule change except making it a world 
wide contest.

  But have fun fighting the arrl system.
