This Week's Contests:

Remember that the 10-10 Club has one already running and going through
the week and that there are special stations to work in the original 13
colonies to celebrate Independence Day. These latter stations are
signing K2A - K2M.

1. Straight Key Century Club European Sprint (SKS). Thursday, July 4,
1200-2100Z. Work everyone, not just Europeans. Use a mechanical key.
160-6M CW. Exchange: RST, Name, SPC, SKCC# or "None." Note that in
this one the mults are DXCC countries rather than SPC. You can also
operate beginning at 1845Z and as late as 2115Z if you don't send over
12 WPM in these extra 30 minutes. If you use them at 12 WPM, you
increase your score and encourage newer and slower guys to get their
feet wet. Suggested frequencies: 7029, 14050, 21050, 28050. Bonus
points for working "C" stations once per contest and "T" stations once
per contest and for every QSO with a specially designated station, who
doesn't seem to have been designated yet, so I guess there won't be one.

2. Michigan QRP Club July 4th Sprint. 2300Z Thursday through 0300Z
Friday. 160-6M CW. Exchange: RST + SPC + MiQRP# or power.

3. NCCC NS RTTY Sprint Practice. Thursday night local, 0130-0159Z
Friday. 15, 20, 40, 80M RTTY. 100W Maximum power. One kHz QSY rule.
Exchange: both calls, #, name, SPC. Look around up 080 kHz.

4. NCCC NS CW Sprint Practice. Thursday night local, 0230-0259Z
Friday. 15, 20, 40, 80, 160M CW. 100W maximum power. One kHz QSY
rule. Exchange: both calls, #, name, SPC. Look around 1815 kHz and up
040 kHz.

5. Venezuelan Independence Day Contest. 48 hours of Saturday/Sunday.
160-10M CW, SSB, PSK. Exchange: RS(T) + serial #.

6. DL-DX RTTY Contest. 11Z Sat to 1059Z Sun. 80-10M RTTY. Exchange:
RST + serial #. Work everyone.

7. Original QRP Contest. 15Z Sat to 15Z Sun. Maximum operating time
of 15 hours. 80, 40, 20M CW. Exchange: RST + Serial # / category.
Categories are: VLP up to one watt. QRP up to 5 watts. MP up to 20 watts.

8. PODXS 070 Club 40M Firecracker Sprint. 2000 local Sat to 0200 local
Sunday. Maximum power 100W. Exchange: RST + SPC. Most of you know
how I feel about contests that are based on "local" time.

9. DARC 10M Digital Contest. 1100Z to 1700Z Sunday. 10M RTTY, Amtor,
Clover, PSK31, Pactor. Exchange: RST + serial #.

10. QRPARCI Summer Homebrew Sprint. 2000-2359Z Sunday. 160-10M CW.
Exchange: RST + SPC + ARCI# or power.

Thursday of next week, the summer QRP Fox Hunts on 20M will begin.

Hope everyone has a nice week, a nice (if not dry) Fourth, and a good
weekend with a lot of QSOs. Keep monitoring 6 meters. Surely we will
catch more openings this month.

73, John, K4BAI.
