Sorry to be late on the weekly report this week. My car wouldn't start
to come home from Rick's Sunday night and I had to spend Tuesday and
Wednesday in Valdosta for court. A head gasket is being repaired and I
have been going back and forth and using a rental car. Hope to get my
car back Friday afternoon.

one-hour mini tests. 160-10M CW. Exchange: Name + CWOps# or SPC.
Look around 028-038 kHz.

The key to the "Precedence" in the SS Exchange is as follows:

A = low power
B = high power
M = multi op.
Q = QRP
S = School
U = Unlimited. (This means you used RBN or cluster spots.)

Hope everyone has a nice week and weekend and many QSOs. ARRL SS is the
big North American contest of the year. If you work CW at all, get on
the air and enjoy the fun. If the big stations running seem too fast
for you, go higher or lower in the band and call CQ at the speed you
want to copy. Others will call you at that speed, including some of the
stations who are also running, as many of them will be SO2R. If you are
doing S&P and having trouble recording all the elements of the
exchanges, you can listen and record what the station is sending to
others. What he will send to you will be that same exact thing except
the # will be one higher. I often have the entire exchange in the log
while listening and correct the QSO number when it is sent to me. If
you don't make that QSO this time, you can put that frequency in a
memory of your rig and try again later. You would then "wipe" the QSO
information for that station and start again with a new CQ or another
station to call.

73, John, K4BAI.
