Comments:
FT1000MP, Alpha 91b, 1 KW, TH6DXX. dipole, zepp, inverted vee. Another NA
Sprint SSB that would have been fun if only participation was more like former
years. Competition with WAE SSB was fierce and I made only one QSO on 40M
below 7200 and that was N9RV, who was working both contests. 20M was quite
good and I stayed there longer than usual. Long and short skip QSOs possible,
with some backscatter QSOs. I had the zepp tuned for 20M so I wouldn't always
have to swing the beam from NE to W, but worked only W2LC while using it.
Otherwise, it seemed that signals into the beam were almost always better than
those on the zepp. 40M didn't have long skip early, but it went long for the
last hour. The AR QSO Party actually made several AR QSOs possible. 80M was a
bit noisy, but was in fair shape except for the lack of stations to work. Never
heard the west coast, but best "DX" was KC0W in ND. Thanks Tom. Many
stations worked on three bands. Thanks to Bob, KW8N, for putting together a
NCC/MRRC and Friends Team again. Thanks for all QSOs. 73, John, K4BAI.
