[SECC] Possible Vacation/Ham Shack Rental on VP5

I am forwarding this message to our reflectors on behalf of my college 
roommate at Mercer University in Macon, GA, Jim Jordan, K4QPL.  Jim grew 
up near Americus/Plain, GA and attended the local ham fests and some 
SEDXC meetings many years ago.  Some of you will remember him.  He is 
now a semi-retired corporations/creditor/bankruptcy lawyer in Raleigh, 
NC, who is active in contests, the PVRC, and checks into the GA State 
Net a few times most weeks.

Subject: VP5 vacation

While not wanting to be "commercial" on the reflector, PVRC members may 
be interested to know that our family partnership has acquired a 4 BR 
rental home on Turks and Caicos, B.W.I. (VP5) that is being renovated 
and modernized to high quality for weekly rentals during the coming 
winter season October-March. The property is close to, and has a similar 
view/antenna orientation as that of VP5JM. Jody still has contesters 
visiting but is no longer doing casual rentals. She is pleased that 
there is an alternative for other hams wanting to operate on the island. 
Although antennas and a radio will be available, it will not be a 
hardcore contesting station but more for family vacations with the bonus 
of ham radio. Check out the islands online and you'll see why we are
