Jerry / all,
 
With SO2R, you can call CQ on your other radio 
while receiving the exchange from the station on
the active QSO radio. Then at the end of the exchange,
send your QSL message. The SO2R ops call this a 
free CQ, since you are using time transmit that would 
otherwise be lost. 
 
Another way to envision the sprint is that you are alternately
running (after CQ or completed QSO from answering another
station) and S&P (answering another station's CQ or calling
after completed QSO). 
 
With two radios you can alternate CQing on two bands 
- just not on both at the same time, as in any contest 
as a single op.
 
The NCCC has a RTTY NS every Thursday night for 30 minutes:

thing! Sprint RTTY is this weekend. All ready? Things working ok?   
Don’t take a  chance! Join us this Thursday evening for a full dress 
rehearsal and make sure  everything is up to your usual high standards.

Friday, 16 Sept 2016, 0145Z - 0215Z (Thursday 15 Sept 2016 in  NA)
-- 1845 - 1915 PDT
-- 2145 - 2215 EDT
-- (others in-between those  two)
-- 160: 1805 and up 
-- 80/40/20/15 +80kHz up from the band edge  (Don’t forget to check 15!)
-- Same band dupes ok after 1 intervening  Q.
-- 1 kHz QSY rule, otherwise standard Sprint rules
-- Mults per  band.
-- 100W power limit.
