Some of you may remember that I had to put in an S & P effort for the CQ 160m CW contest because of an erratic keying problem I had on 160 and 80m when using the shunt-fed tower. NQ4I and W4DD were concerned enough to send me suggestions.
Well, I don’t entirely know the cause, but I have figured out how to solve it.
Attaching the computer chassis ground to the station ground appears to cure the problem. Figuring out how to make a good, permanent attachment is going to take some figuring, as there aren’t many places to do that on this tiny Acer. But I’m sure I’ll figure out something.
I’m just glad to have that problem licked. Thanks, everyone, for all your suggestions.
