[SECC] 1820 again

wow, thanks for all the input on what I am hearing here! If it is a
mixing product brought on by old rusty fencing then I am in big trouble
as my home and towers are located in the middle of a pasture with 5
strand barb wire all around. Then the field itself is fenced and then
all the other miles of fencing other fields and neighbors. So my
question here would be why only one frequency would show this signal....
looks like this would be a problem up and down the band. So maybe a 2nd
harmonic problem.... I can hear 3 different stations on 910 all sound
like in the USA but the station on 1820 sounds more foreign... weird
music and non-English voice.... difficult to decipher as the carrier is
strong but audio very crummy. I am using a FTdx5000mp and at night on
160 with no ATT and IPO selected is AMP2 the 1820 signal shows a S-meter
reading of 20/9 in AM mode. Normally on 160 I use -12db of ATT and IPO
of IPO1 which this 1820 signal then comes in at S-3 on the meter which
is still much stronger than any DX cw signal that might be there. My
antenna is a full wave loop for 160 made from electric fence wire about
550 ft around in a tri-angle shape fed at the lower corner with a 4:1
balun. I do see sometimes on the cluster other complaints that 1820
seems to be a bad choice but nothing specific as to why. Think I will
drop a note to the ARRL boys and see if they have any info. Obviously
this is not life threatening to me but I find it aggravating when a New
One shows up on or close to 1820 and I probably should just accept this
minor problem and get over it! I am too old to waste any time on this
stuff! But I do appreciate all of your thoughts and ideas! Thanks and
73's Cort K4WI
