Here is Paul Newberry, N4PN, answer to Scott's inquiry. Apparently he
didn't know of the commercial use of the antenna. 73, John, K4BAI
Hi:
The Monster 4el Beam is right down town on top of the old Rescue Mission
Building....
I never knew the operator or his call.....However, I was having
breakfast at Krystal one morning
a few years ago when a lady saw my car tag and introduced herself. She
was also a ham, can???t
remember her call except she was a K4 and had been a ham for long time.
The station and beam
belonged to her husband, but he had long left Macon to accept another
position.
The beam is still a ???wonderful sight??? for us hamoholics on a big tower
up in the air on top of that
multi-story building.....located two blocks off Cherry Street, the main
street, on what was always
known as Broadway, but now it???s changed to Marlin Luther King Blvd.
73, Paul, N4PN

and do not remember seeing this.?? I have forwarded the message to Paul
Newberry, N4PN, in Macon and will let you know what response I get.??
