GEORGIA QSO Party Reminder. Saturday is the annual Georgia QSO Party.
This year it is one day only, 12 hours. Noon to midnight EDT, 1600Z Sat
to 0400Z Sun. CW and SSB. Rules can be found by an internet search for
2020 Georgia QSO Party rules. Because of travel restrictions due to the
Corona virus, there are no mobile or rover categories. So, it is
important that every ham in GA with a station he or she can put on the
air at home or portable get on and hand out QSOs. This can be a lot of
fun. If you want to run, you can be almost like DX. Exchange is just
RS(T) + county abbreviation. The county abbreviations can be found from
the webpage. We receive RS(T) + state, province, or "DX." There will
be only a few out-of-state stations calling CQ GA. So, you should call
CQ GA QSO Party (on CW, CQ GQP) at whatever frequency and speed on CW
are good for you and work everyone that you can hear calling. If
possible, post your scores to the 3830 score website after the contest
is over and submit your Cabrillo file log as specified in the rules. Be
sure to show your club in the Cabrillo header so your club can be
credited for the Club Aggregate Score competition. SECC and SEDXC clubs
are the sponsors, so members of those clubs should show their local club
rather than one of the sponsor clubs. Thanks for all help you can give
us to get the word out. A late change gives 100 points extra added to
the final score for each QSO with one of the club calls of the
sponsors: W4AN (SECC) and W4NT (SEDXC). Don't worry that your computer
software doesn't add these points as the log checking process will add
them for you. Thanks to all who have volunteered to use the club
calls. Note that the club calls may be used in different counties on
different modes and bands. Thanks to all for your help. We hope we can
have mobiles and rovers again next year. This one-day contest will give
you Easter Sunday off from the contest.
