[SECC] cqww zone preload

I contacted Jim AD1C, and he pointed out that the zone was already correctly listed as 5 for AA5JF in the latest version of wl_cty.dat. In downloading and updating it from his website (https://www.country-files.com/contest/n1mm/),

I realized that I was still using the wl_cty.dat file from when I originally installed N1MM+ last year. I had been assuming that when the logger periodically did an update, all the various support databases were also being updated. Not so. So my callsign is all set for zone 5, but I suspect confusion over my zone will continue, as most others aren't updating their wl_cty.dat file regularly either.
Thanks everyone for helping me trouble-shoot this one. Andrew AA5JF

In N1MM Logger+, the zone prefill information in a contest like the CQWW comes from data contained in the country file (wl_cty.dat). AD1C is the keeper of this file and periodically issues updates.
Really though, if your zone information is incorrectly prefilled in the other guy's log, it is not something that should cause you much concern. Instead, it is up to the other station to correctly copy and log WHAT YOU SEND regardless of what any prefilled information shows. People move all the time and things change. The solution is simple, copy what is sent.
But if this really causes heartburn, an email to AD1C with the correct information will fix it.

Is it linked to the number 5 in my call sign, or is it referencing some database that has me last competing in the CQWW from zone 4? Or something else? Can I have it fixed somehow? Any suggestions?
I’m pretty sure it’s linked to having a 5-land call. There may be a list of exceptions in some CTY files, maybe. Not entirely sure.
One option is to change your callsign to match your zone. Of course, your callsign is like your identity, so the may be to drastic.
Or, you could move to Zone 4…. Naw, even more drastic.
