Fellow SECC members,
Let me propose that we schedule a virtual meeting for Tuesday, March 9th at 7:30pm. I will be happy to arrange all the details, including the technical details and helping set the agenda.
At this point, I will propose a Skype meeting. Skype does most of the things the other video conferencing software does, is free and does not have the 45 minute limit (at work I use Microsoft Teams and WebEx, but can't use those account unfortunately). My belief is that having the 45 minute time limit hanging over us will lessen the experience, hence my preference for Skype. However, if one of you who is interested in participating has a paid Zoom account, and you are willing to launch the meeting, please contact me off list, and we will work together to set that up. I freely admit that Zoom is a superior product, but without the paid account to allow for a longer meeting, my preference is Skype.
I will send details about setting up a Skype account, and anything else you will need. For us to see you, you will need a webcam, but there will be other options for joining the session. More details to follow.
I will work with Jeff and the SECC officers to set the agenda, but expect that as a first meeting, our goal will be to get to know each other through introductions, and find out a little about what you doing in contesting and what you think would make sense for these virtual meetings. We will have some content! There is a great deal of radiosport experience in the club, and we'll find something interest to present. We will finalize the 'agenda' well beforehand and let you know. My goal is for a meeting of ~1 hour.
I for one look forward to seeing you virtually in-person and to get to know you a little better. Stay tuned ...
