Do I need a Zoom account to join the meeting as a participant?

No. You can use the link above, or go to https://zoom.us, click on Join a Meeting, and then enter the Meeting ID and passcode.

Does it cost anything to get a Zoom account?

No. You can create a Zoom account for free at https://zoom.us/signup. This will also allow you to create your own meetings (with limited functionality), and will give you access to Zoom meetings that require a verified profile.

Do I need to download the app?

It isn't necessary, but it is recommend. Although you can join our meeting using a Web browser--but if you use the app (the so-called Client), you get greater functionality and less lag and latency. If possible, download the app (known as the Zoom Client for Meetings) before the meeting: https://zoom.us/download#client_4meeting

What if I don't have a webcam?

Most laptops have cameras installed, so you may wish to use a laptop if available. If you do not have a camera (or do not wish to be displayed on camera), you can still join the meeting, as you will be able to see and hear others. Say hello in the chat bar. Or if you wish, use your phone.

Can I join on a phone?

Yes. If you create an account, you can also download an app onto your Android or iPhone device, and join that way, using the phone's camera, speakers and microphone.

What is good Zoom etiquette?

Please mute yourself if you are not speaking. Generally though it is considered good etiquette to keep your camera on, even if you are not speaking (others can see you). Avoid eating on camera (drinking is ok).

Where can I find more information?
