Welcome Chris!

I started at 13 as well, but only made it to General (in April of 1976) at 13.  Extra did not come until 33 years later!  I was QRT basically 30 of those years – a huge mistake!

I’m glad you like CW!  I absolutely love it!  And I think it is super-fantastic for contesting (from the little bit of experience that I have).

Subject: [SECC] Welcome New Member Chris, KJ4HYG

Let’s all welcome Chris, KJ4HYG, our newest member to the SECC.  Chris hails from Marietta, and passed the Extra exam this past April at age 13!!  Chris indicates he enjoys CW – it’s interesting to me to see many new hams show interest in the fine art of Morse even though it’s no longer tested for.

As of Chris’ May posting to QRZ.COM, he is on the air with a TS-520S and doublet up 80+ feet.  You can do a lot with wire antennas Chris.

Chris is also a member of the North Fulton ARL.

Welcome to the SECC Chris.  Please join in on our discussions on the SECC reflector and submit contest scores for the club when you are able.
