Correction to TQP!

I tried to extend the Tennessee QSO Party to be a 32 hour party, but the sharp eyed Tennessee guys will not let me!

The correct starting time for the TQP is 2 pm on Sunday, not Saturday as I originally posted.

Subject: [SECC] Contest this weekend

There are two good contest you might consider – full time or part time – serious participation or just to hone contesting skills!

RUSSIAN RTTY

Starting Friday at 8 pm (0000z) and running until Saturday at 8 pm (0000z).

Non-Russian stations send RST + CQ Zone

Send logs to:   contest@radio.ru

Rules at:          http//www.qrz.ru/contest/detail/93

This would be an excellent contest to brush up on your RTTY skills in preparation for the upcoming CQWW RTTY this month!

TQP – Tennessee QSO Party

Starting Saturday at 2 pm (1800z) and running until Sunday at 11 pm (0300z)

CW – Phone – Digital

Work stations once per band per mode

160m through UHF – NO WARC bands

Non-Tennessee stations send RST + State

Send logs to:   logs@tnqp.org

Rules at:          www.tnqp.org/html/rules/htm

QSO parties are a great way to ‘get your feet wet’ in contesting as the exchanges are simple and there is little pressure  to work the world! Normal 100 watts (or QRP) and wire antennas are best for these ‘local’ QSO parties. Get on, get some experience, and above all – HAVE FUN!
