Please join me in welcoming Mark Wolozin, WO4MW, as the SECC’s newest member.  Mark currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia and just got his Technician ticket in February 2009, but did not get  on the air until April when he got his Yaesu 857. Mark upgraded to General in June 2009, and got his Extra in October. He has not learned CW yet, but has started to listen to the CDs and on his IPod.

He got his feet wet in the Rookie Roundup last year and some QSO parties.  He participated in last weekends CQ WW SSB contest with just under 200 contacts.  He used his Yaesu and AL-811 amp, AT600 tuner, and home made 105 foot dipole at about 50 feet, which points SE-NW.  He is excited about working New Zealand, Europe, Alaska, Hawaii, and French Polynesia. No JA contacts so far.

He is anxious to contribute scores for the SECC even though he is just getting started in contesting.  He entered the Illinois State QSO Party just to "test-the-water" and admits he has a lot to learn, but is looking forward to a lot of contesting fun.

Mark’s e-mail address is: kj4jey@gmail.com

Mark, please do not hesitate to contribute any score, regardless of size to the SECC.  There are many of us in the SECC that have been hamming and contesting for over 30 or more years and there will always be something for all of us to learn.  I personally am excited by your enthusiasm, and hopefully, it will rub off on others too.  If you have any questions or if any of us can be of any help to you, please call, and welcome to the SECC.
