Wise man say, when 80 meter antenna not working for contest. Make sure not laying in pile on ground where storm blew down. – Now that was a smart man! I absolutely feel stupid now that I figured out why the antenna wouldn’t work for the RTTY contest this weekend – it was laying on the ground in a pile where the rope had rubbed itself against the limb and cut through it.

Now mind you I finally decided to go outside and check after about 30 minutes of testing with the VNA, flash light in hand looking for a balun in the air I found it when I tripped on it.

It is going to be a LONG week! J
