This Week's Contests:
1. NCCC NS Practice. 0200-0259Z Friday, Thursday night local
(Friday UTC). 100W limit. One kHz QSY rule. 20, 40, 80, 160m
CW. Exchange: RST, Name, SPC. We hope that PJ4/K4BAI, PJ4/KU8E,
and PJ4/W1FJ will be QRV tonight. I'm not sure, but there will
probably be a slow speed SNS from 0220 to 0220Z. Same rules as NS
except 26 WPM maximum speed and no 160M.
2. No QRP 40M Fox Hunt tonight.
3. CQ World Wide DX Contest, CW. 48 hours of weekend UTC.
160-10M CW. Exchange: RST + CQ Zone #. There is a club
aggregate score competition so be sure to show the fuil name of
your club in your Cabrillo header. KU8E and K4BAI will be two of
four ops at PJ4A on the new DXCC entity of Bonaire. Hope you will
all work us on many bands. Good luck to all.
4. South African Relay League Digital Contest. 13-16Z Sunday,
80-20M RTTY/PSK. Exchange: RST + Serial #. Work ZR and ZS
stations.
5. Tuesday night local 80M QRP Fox Hunt. 3550-3570 kHz. Maximum
power 5W. Work only the two "foxes," Exchange: RST + SPC + Name
+ Power.
Hope all of you and your families have had a nice Thanksgiving.
We are having a very nice one with nearly everything ready and
working perfectly. We will be M/2, so we should be running on two
bands at the same time. We have a third station with a lock out
that we can use to try to work a maximum of eight stations per
hour (eight band changes per hour x 2 stations). Hope everyone
has a nice weekend and a lot of QSOs, particularly in CQ WW CW.
73, John, K4BAI.
