Going to be some really great scores. Enjoyed Mark, John, Jeff, Paul
and Rick's comments. Good work. I should be full time for WPX.

Comments:
Scheduled conflicts for Saturday morning and
evening left little time for radio.
Since I knew I could not be
competitive, I decided to play 10m-15m-20m and pass
out points and enjoy
the contest. So I worked a little on 20m Friday night and
then got
some time in on Saturday afternoon. It seemed that conditions
were
pretty good so I looked forward to spending Sunday on the air.
It's pretty
cool when conditions are better than you expect...EU was strong
all day and I
never seemed to run out of S&P stations to work. SA
and the Caribbean were
also excellent with lots of 100w stations from PY
and LU in the log. Asia and
Oceania were not as good. I only
worked a few JAs, KH2, VK, ZL, 5W and a JT5,
who was very loud Saturday
evening and was my catch of the contest.
On Sunday, I thought a
reasonable goal would be 500-600 contacts and 200 mults
for the
tribander. Again, nice to have the day go better than you expect
as
QSOs climbed quickly and around 5 pm local time, I couldn't resist
not
switching to 40m just to add a few more mults. Fun Dx was hearing
the ZD7
working split down on 10m Sunday afternoon. I passed him by a
few times, and
finally decided to waste some time in the pile. After
switching to split and
setting dual receive, I immediately stumbled onto a
stateside response and
called when he finished. That was it, only a
single call...how fun is that?
Of course, I won't tell you how many times
I tried the KH2L pile before making
contact.
Anyway, a great radio
weekend, my thanks to the contest committee and all those
who contacted
me. Looking forward to WPX.
