Todd, Kevan, John and other SECC'ers...

I've got a general QSO party rules question.....

With most (possibly all) state QSO Party contests, the in-state stations can other in-state stations, but they do not receive a multiplier for the in-state counties worked.

What's wrong with allowing the in-state stations to earn multipliers for working in-state counties?

IMO, allowing the in-state station to earn multipliers for contacts with each county would increase on-air activity, perhaps increase the number of in-state stations working the contest... After all, in-state stations are only competing against other in-state stations.

Thoughts?

Thanks Todd and John.  And way to go Dave! Also,
Thanks to the Columbia Amateur Radio Club.

Todd, I know you were a major force in overhauling
the contest format and working with the Columbia
club.  Thank you. John, I remember Todd thanking
you for your suggestions.  Good job both.

One complaint I heard over and over was people
asking "Where are the other South Carolina
stations?" People outside the state were very
disappointed in the lack of participants from
South Carolina. I'm about to volunteer to pick up
one of our local clubs net control slots again. I
intend to use the platform to spread the word
about ARES and contesting (the South Carolina
QSO Party in particular). Maybe talking it up
early on can help increase participation.

As to my score, you get someone like Drubber,
W4IX, in there and he'd eat me alive.

Sorry, to not have posted this earlier but congrats to all the winners and thanks for the participation. And special congrats to N4XL who has set an all-time record for the contest. We all have something to aim for in the next one!
