I finally got set up on the club reflector. Was an easy process just my lack of motivation while playing with wire antennas etc. My wife and I are spending our first full winter in North Carolina. I live in a HOA so I won’t be putting any tower up soon. Maybe if the Ham Radio Parity Act goes into law before I become an SK I have a chance for a tower here. I do have some trees to hang wires that my neighbors don’t seem to mind. I basically used my RV to pack as much as I could legally carry to NC this year to my new winter home. My station is very simple here. A Yaesu FT-920 and wires for 160 thru 10meters. I am using a trap dipole on 40/80 that I tune with an antenna tuner. Since I usually run HP Assisted from my NY QTH I find LP a little frustrating without a beam. However it is nice when guys like FR5DX hear you on SSB on the noise floor. I will be bringing my AL-1200 back down to NC this fall. I am going to fabricate some delta loops when I get back to NY to hang from my high trees next fall here. I was able to work the K1N operation last month so that leaves me with just ZS8 to finish off my mixed DXCC. I have heard and worked many of the club members in SS CW and Phone over the years as well as 160 contests. I hope I can find the time to get to a club social event soon. I fear that probably occurs during the summer months when I will be back in NY. Hope you all have a great spring and summer and special thanks to John K4BAI for his help in getting me involved in the SECC.Dave W2GDJARRL DX Contest, SSB
