US department of state to stamp out additional passport pages

As the end of 2015 nears, frequent travelers will soon not have the luxury of adding extra pages to their US passports. Beginning December 31st, 2015, passport holders will no longer be able to simply pay for extra pages to add to their book when they run out of room. Instead, international travelers will have to renew their passports altogether.

If you’re looking to take advantage of the last few weeks of being able to an extra 24-page packet to your passport before the new policy takes effect, you must have your documents sent in by December 18th, 2015 and pay a $82 fee.

The US State Department will now offer passport holders the option of obtaining a 52-page “jumbo” passport book, which will feature an additional 20 pages. US passports will continue to be valid for 10 years.
