I do use LOTW, love it.  I have a good route for an OH3 Gent that operated that call during the time frame, looking for an 80mtr QSL.

Be careful on requesting QSLs from say 1998.  I looked at the list W3UR publishes and some were SK and several had changed calls.  If you want a hard copy QSL check QRZ to see if the ham is still alive.  Often they will list who they are managers for.  Try an e-mail if unsure.

If you just need a confirmation use LoTW.  Nothing lost by trying.
