hey lee, thanks for the input. That article made a lot of sense. I finally found the Task Scheduler and opened it but after deleting all I found there the same problem persists. I really don't know how to get to the registry to check there. Also no idea if the hard drive via USB that I am attempting to save to is compatible with win10.... don't see why not but I am a bit out of my depth here... lol...I'll keep trying and see what happens... tnx again, Cort

Read down to Kerberos’ explanation about deleting some entries from the registry. The registry is going to over ride your input.

Need some help here again! I am trying to create a back up of my newly installed WIN10 to a 250 GB external hard drive. The C: drive is about 120 GB out of 930 GB hard drive which should fit with no problem. When I start a back up  all goes well until I get the following error:

"The task object version is either unsupported or invalid
 (0x80041313)"

and the procedure comes to a stop. Anyone have any idea what this means and any way to correct it? Thanks, Cort K4WI
