North American QSO Party, SSB - August Call: K4BAI Operator(s): K4BAI Station: K4BAI Class: Single Op LP QTH: GA Operating Time (hrs): 8:19 Summary: Band QSOs Mults ------------------- 160: 0 0 80: 81 26 40: 272 41 20: 106 26 15: 6 3 10: 0 0 ------------------- Total: 465 96 Total Score = 44,640 Club: South East Contest Club Team: SECC Comments: Thunderstorms moved away from our immediate area just before the contest started. Started out using a TS590SG, but didn't like the AGC on phone. First time in a phone contest with that rig. After 6 QSOs on 15 and 106 QSOs on 20, the tribander stopped working. Reason not yet known. Trying to find the problem and then changing to an FT1000MP caused a lot of time off. Then we celebrated our son's 43rd birthday at his house and we were off about 2 1/2 hours for that. Well worth it, though. Heard no stations on 10M (and worked no locals that I could move to 10). 15 was open only to TX, AZ, and TI, or so it seemed. 40 stayed short a long time and that helped the QSO total on that band. 80M was very noisey. Tried on 160M about 0230Z and the QRN was so bad, I didn't return to that band. Thanks for all QSOs. 20 and 40M were poor to the west coast. Great to work my college roommate VP5/K4QPL from his QTH in TCI. 73, John, K4BAI. Posted using 3830 Score Submittal Forms at: http://www.3830scores.com/
