Hi:
The Monster 4el Beam is right down town on top of the old Rescue Mission Building....
I never knew the operator or his call.....However, I was having breakfast at Krystal one morning
a few years ago when a lady saw my car tag and introduced herself. She was also a ham, can’t
remember her call except she was a K4 and had been a ham for long time. The station and beam
belonged to her husband, but he had long left Macon to accept another position.
The beam is still a “wonderful sight” for us hamoholics on a big tower up in the air on top of that
multi-story building.....located two blocks off Cherry Street, the main street, on what was always
known as Broadway, but now it’s changed to Marlin Luther King Blvd.
